On Sunday, Aimee, Emma and I drove up to the Patriot Center to see Disney on Ice: Dare to Dream. We dressed up in our best flats, put on our biggest smiles, and sat down to watch Mickey, Minnie, Donald and Goofy emcee the event, which featured characters from The Princess and the Frog, Cinderella and Tangled!
The coolest part of the show, by far, was Rapunzel’s Tangled. The show’s dream engineers did an amazing job of giving the audience the experience of Rapunzel’s famous hair by having these long, yellow curtains drawn through the ceiling and then finally cascading down. Later on, Flynn Rider and Rapunzel used these curtains to do some swinging acrobatics… impressive when you consider that every time they put their feet down, they were landing on ice!
Also impressive was Maximus, Tangled’s horse. I can’t even imagine how hard it must be to ice skate in a horse costume!
During the finale, all of the princesses and princes came out — including some classic sets like Belle and the Beast, and Ariel and Erik — and their costumes were reimagined in white and gold, even Mickey and Minne — see them in the front?
It was a great show, and I was so happy to have had the opportunity to go see it with Aimee and Emma!
