It’s now twenty ten, and things are just starting to look up! Can’t you see it?! It’s like somebody stirred up my outlook on life with an optimism stick, and tossed a couple of marshmallows on top for fun.
Oh, that’s right. You heard me. 2010 is shaping up quite nicely, despite Jack Frost’s seeming infatuation with biting my ears and nose. (Irritating.) So, what’s up you ask? Well…
1. Tomorrow I start a two and a half month stretch of dog-sitting. Most people moan and groan on my behalf when they hear this, but truthfully it’s not so bad. I get paid and I get to turn my thermostat in my townhouse to somewhere between 55 and 60 (cha-ching!). Even though I’ll have a longer drive to work in the mornings, I’ll come home to wagging tails and Miss Kitty’s tiny voice, and I’ll have access to TV just in time to watch the final season of LOST and to see Jack Bauer return to save the world — again.
2. In October of 2009, Sarah added me as a contributor to her company’s blog, Oomphasis. I’m happy to say that I’m really enjoying the Etsy round ups that I’m curating for this site, which I post in full on my Tumblr account. Please check out Flights of fancy and Winter’s white inspiration — the two round ups I’ve completed so far — and let me know what you think! Oomphasis now has it’s own Etsy shop, so I’m looking forward to providing some behind-the-scenes “creation assistance” in the upcoming months, helping Sarah to stock the virtual shelves of her shop!
3. Last week I asked Keith if he wanted to join forces in some sort of weekly photography posting challenge… a ploy to not only get us both out taking pictures, but also posting those photos. A simple enough idea to start, when cultivated in the hands of Ehmans this simple exercise exploded with conspiratorial fun and became The League of 1000 Words! We’ve already started setting up the blog page, contacting contributors and outlining photographic challenges. Stay tuned, because the site *should* go live next week sometime!
and because I like even numbers…
4. This Friday I’m going to see Ice! with my entire family at the National Harbor, and by a stroke of luck I’ve got Sarah J. all to myself for a girls’ day — pedicures and giggling included — on Saturday!
A fine start to the new year, indeed!
