These feet of mine… they’ve carried me on some adventures, helped me climb to heights and have absorbed impact when I’ve jumped down. I’ve dressed them up, scrubbed them down and soaked them in hot water. I’ve painted them, rubbed them and bandanged them up. They are serviceable feet, and while I do not necessarily like my feet, I love that they’ve stood with me and supported me all these years no matter where I’ve decided to go our how I’ve chosen to get there…
In Utah, supported by my great North Face hiking shoes, they helped me trek down into Bryce Canyon and back up again. They shifted me through the gears on my motorcycle so I could ride from Arches National Park to Canyonlands, and they allowed me climb to a good vantage point to watch the sun set on Delicate Arch. Housed in North Face sandals, my feet felt the fine grit of Utah’s red sand as we trudged through deep banks of it to get to Sand Dune Arch, and they took off across paths of sand worn down through the desert-like plateaus to get to the Landscape, Pine Tree and Tunnel arches. Hot from a trek out to Mossy Cave and a waterfall, they enjoyed the shock of a cold mountain stream. And, chilly in the Colorado mountains they bundled up in the warmth of wool socks and a comforting, dancing fire.
Now my feet and I are back home. There aren’t as many adventures to be had in Southern Maryland; not as many new amazing and unseen things to explore. So instead my feet are dressing up! They’ve taken on the new task of breaking in my new Ann Taylor wedges so that I (and my feet) will be comfortable three weeks from now, at Amy’s wedding.
Ah yes, these feet of mine are prepared to take on the world with me!

And glad I could inspire you. *giggle*
