A package? For me?! Who’s it from? Courtney! I *heart* Courtney!!!
But… I am going to see her this weekend. What could she possibly be sending me? A zany clue as to our plans for the Greatest Weekend Ever?! A collection of sordid poems about dating and the Big City, sure to put her on the NY Times best seller list and earn her international acclaim??! A page filled with Lisa Frank stickers that spell out “Save The Whales?” I stop asking questions, and take time to admire the use of recycled packaging:
Inside of the Shoppers Food Warehouse brown paper bag outter wrapper, and the flat iron box that we think must have contained a secret ingredient to Courtney’s dating success, I slide out a tray, revealing the edges of a Ziplock baggie and an envelope that surely coordinates to the stationary within…
Now let me tell y’all right now… Courtney doesn’t disappoint when she sends a package. No siree! The super-sweet stationary reminds me to insert this aside: (Sweet girl, I haven’t forgotten about the paperie that you spoke of… we simply must go and succumb to our inner printed and letterpressed postal desires!)…
… and I come back to my senses long enough to read her sweet note (awww, I love you!) and tear into one of these divine homemade orange poppyseed cookies, placating the inner cookie monster in me.
Yum! Friendship has never tasted so damn good!

I *heart* you too!! And I’m so glad you got the package and liked the cookies! I couldn’t resist sending you some. We both know that getting mail is one of the best things ever!!
