The title of this post speaks for itself… I made it to Salt Lake City around 8 PM. Mom and Dad picked me up at the airport and we ran into an REI to pick up a map and then ate a very tasty dinner at a Texas Roadhouse where we were able to watch the opening ceremony of the 2008 Beijing Olympics.
Mom and Dad have suffered through four days of thunderstorms so far, and they’re hoping that I brought some sunshine with me. We’ve got a hotel tonight, and tomorrow we’ll check the radar and decide which group of sites we want to head to first — Moab or Bryce Canyon. Hopefully, the rain will keep moving east and we’ll be able to get to the west of it and follow it over the next few days. *fingers crossed*
Dad is urging me to actually go to bed instead of staying up til 2 AM (again), and I’m going to take his advice. Especially since he’s an early riser and will probably be bouncing me out of bed tomorrow morning so we can eat breakfast and get on the road…
I hereby declare, “Let the vacation begin!”

Woohoo! I already can’t wait to see photos…
I highly suggest MOAB.
I lived in Salt Lake City for almost two years. I miss the mountains. I hope you have a great trip!!
Too bad the arch along Devils Garden Trail in the Arches National Park just collapsed.
That would have been beautiful to see.
Enjoy your trip my dear! I look forward to the postcards!!
Hi Sweetie,
Sounds like you all are having a great time. Say Hi to Mommy and Daddy for me.
Have a great trip.
Heidi
Echo with Word Perv on the fallen arch, hope it doesn’t extend to your feet!!
SLC area is very beautiful, enjoy your road trips in and around. Sundance is pretty, Bridal Veil Falls too (though I saw it in winter, iced over with ice climbers).
Can’t wait to see pics, and BE SAFE riding out there.
